A world of photos

A model contacted another photographer and I about a photo shoot in Midland, MI. She was having a few of her friends that are models in the Detroit area come up for a girls night out. The night was to start with a photo shoot. I wasn’t sure what to expect but knew it would be fun. The space was small and it was a challenge to position the lights but we ended up with a bunch of great photos from the evening.
I have decided that I’m going to bring my experience as a model photographer to seniors in mid-Michigan.  There are some reasons that models in advertisements look great.  And it’s not just that they are good looking people.  A lot of the beauty is created by a team of hair, makeup and lighting experts.  Defoe Photography is bringing the supermodel experience to Saginaw area seniors.  The senior session will include professional hair and makeup so that you will look your best.  You won’t get stuck with boring senior pics!
There are times when a couple just makes you smile.  That was the case at this Bay City MI wedding.  This couples smiles were contagious.  As a photographer I don’t just want to make pretty pictures.  A wedding is a very special moment in time and I want to capture the emotion and personality of the people and the event.  There are always those little moments when the bride and groom are away from everything for a little while and just get to enjoy each others company.  These are some of the special moments that make photos worth saving because they trigger a memory of the way the day felt.
As technology improves and my editing skills get better it’s fun to go back and edit some images from the past.  This picture was taken in 2007.  Because of where the picture was taken the color was off and the angle of the light (diffused daylight) made the model look ghoulish.  She is a pretty model and I didn’t want her to look like she had black eyes with big bags under them.  So after watching an online class I pulled out this image and re-edited it.  There was always something I liked about the image and now I’m able to bring it out!
